Marketing Newsletter December 2014
1. “The I need to show my friends what a great course we have package”
How does this work? In simple terms, we need another busload of golfers each week to come to Omaha, pay green fees and use our facilities. This is all it takes to ensure we generate that that little extra which makes the difference in just getting through the year or being able to provide our members with a club that has available funds to meet all of its financial obligations as well as the aspirations of its members.
Not everyone has a busload of golfing friends – but between us we can make up the numbers. We are looking for you to get together a group of fifteen golfing friends – four groups of four. Your day of course is green fee free and you will qualify for a free drink at the bar with your friends after the game.
What you get for $30 per head:
• Green fees,
• four consecutive tee times,
• a five dollar bar voucher per person,
• a great days golfing and the knowledge that you have personally helped the Omaha Golf Club in its fund raising initiative.
Who knows, one of your friends may get the bug and become a member – that would make your contribution even more valuable.
Book by contacting Neil on 09 422 7551 or
golfdirector@omahagolf.co.nz Quote “CLUB MEMBERS PROMO” as a booking reference to qualify for the special price and bar vouchers. We will keep a record of all bookings and regularly update you as to the success of this initiative – probably the easiest opportunity that we have ever had for members to raise funds for the club whilst pursuing their preferred sport at their preferred golf club!
2. “The how I can use my dual membership to help Omaha package”
How does this work? Our club is fortunate in having over seventy members with dual membership – generally “the other club” is your main club and Omaha the secondary club.
The people that you play golf with at your main club are within our key target market profile. They play golf regularly and look forward to having golfing experiences at other courses. You can help Omaha by helping them choose our fantastic course for their away trip – and hopefully additional trips once they see what we can offer.
We are looking to you to actively promote Omaha to your “other golfing network” by bringing groups of fifteen friends – four groups of four – to Omaha for a game. As the host for the day you will qualify for a free drink at the bar with your friends after the game.
What you get for $30 per head:
• Green fees,
• four consecutive tee times,
• a five dollar bar voucher per person,
• a great days golfing and the knowledge that you have personally helped the Omaha Golf Club in its fund raising initiative.
Book by contacting Neil on 09 422 7551 or
golfdirector@omahagolf.co.nz Quote “DUAL MEMBERS PROMO” as a booking reference to qualify for the special price and bar vouchers. We will keep a record of all bookings and regularly update you as to the success of this initiative – a great opportunity for you to bring members from your other club to experience the joy of golf at Omaha – and there is every opportunity for the favour to be returned with a group of your Omaha friends reciprocating at a later date. A win / win for all parties.
3. “The how I can help make the Pro-Am a financial and operational success package”
The Pro Am Tournament was a great success - thank you to all our sponsors and members for their participation.
4. “The how I can help corporates in helping Omaha whilst promoting their own brands package”
Corporates know the value of hosting a golf tournament. This is premium use of their marketing budget with long term rewards for company and client alike. But, not all corporate marketing managers know about Omaha and the world class golf course we have – all only less than an hour from Auckland’s C.B.D.
This is where you can help. We need you to sow the seed with the people you know who may be considering, or should be considering promoting their brand and rewarding their clients and staff with their own corporate golf day at Omaha.
We will build a package to suit them – that is John Phillis’ forte – but we need contacts that come well recommended and have a good likelihood of making a positive decision to get on board with Omaha.
These are the big events and provide us with an opportunity to showcase our premises to a whole new group of potential new members. And, whilst we are always looking to grow our base membership numbers, that is an extra to the benefits of hosting a tournament and cash flow produced from those corporate golf days.
For your help, and as a reward for brokering this business, we will on signing up a corporate sponsor subsequent to your promoting a programme to them, provide you with a thank you voucher for $200 that you can use at the club bar.
Please make the initial contact with your corporate marketing manager and introduce him/her to John Phillis 09 422 7551 or
gm@omahagolf.co.nz once you have some interest expressed. John will email you confirming the referral so that when a deal is done you are guaranteed the thank you bar voucher.
5. “The how I can watch my money working at Omaha package”
We have members with great ideas on how the club can do things better – if only the club had the money and sometimes the skills to implement them.
Well, here is an opportunity for you to achieve your goals by making it happen at your club.
We always encourage donations without strings attached, but now, we are also looking for members to donate with strings and the knowledge that the club will ensure that the use for which the money has been given will indeed be to what the money is applied. The club will use its best endeavours, if necessary, to find further donations to complete the specified project, and undertakes to regularly report back to you on progress until final completion of the specific project undertaken.
You may wish to assist in the acquisition of a particular piece of equipment (new tractor for example), or a particular upgrade on the course (new greens for example), or even cash that can be kept on deposit as club equity to facilitate temporary borrowings in the off season. The choices are many, and they are yours.
If you think you can help by donating some of your excess savings, please talk to John Phillis on 09 422 7551 or gm@omahagolf.co.nz in the first instance.
We work closely with the “Friends of Omaha Beach Golf Club” which has the objective of assisting the Omaha Beach Golf Club in funding improvements to the golf course, surrounds and equipment. And, being an approved charitable trust it is often possible for you to obtain tax deductibility on your donation. This makes your money go further and helps both the Club and you in maximising the funds available.
We will be establishing a book to record all donations of this nature to the club and this book will be displayed in the clubhouse alongside the existing trophy cabinets.
Thank you in advance for ensuring the implementation of your personal ideas on how to benefit the club, its members and also yourself as we all share in the execution of your plan.
“The final gift to Omaha package.”
We cannot take our money with us when our time comes. Have you considered adding the Club as a beneficiary under your will? Just think what could be achieved if we all made a specific bequest to the club in our wills?
Next time you are talking with your Lawyer why not discuss the possibility of updating your will to include either a set dollar amount or a percentage of your estate as your final contribution to a club that has enhanced all our lifestyles here in Omaha?
Thank you for your generosity.
